چکیده

| In this paper we discuss theoretical and experimental aspects of nonlinear pulse propagation in long-period ber gratings. We derive nonlinear coupled mode equations for co-propagating core and cladding modes in a long-period ber grating and show that the intensity dependent index can be used to tune the mode coupling, thereby creating a mechanism for pulse shaping and all-optical switching. Extensive numerical simulations, which describe the nonlinear pulse dynamics, are compared with experiments. We discuss the application of these nonlinear eeects to signal processing in all-optical ber communications.

Unique Solution of Short Pulse Propagation in Nonlinear Fiber Bragg Grating

In this study, a new numerical method is introduced to obtain the exact shape of output pulse in the chalcogenide fiber Bragg grating (FBG). A Gaussian pulse shape with 173 ps width is used as an input pulse for lunching to a 6.6 mm nonlinear FBG. Because of bistable and hysteresis nature of nonlinear FBG the time sequence of each portion of pulse is affected the shape of output pulse. So we di...

pH Effect on the Size of Graphene Quantum dot Synthesized by Using Pulse Laser Irradiation

In this study graphene oxide (GO) was synthesized by using Hummer’s method. Low dimension graphene quantum dot nanoparticles (GQDs) were synthesized using pulse laser irradiation. Fourier Transform-Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR), Ultraviolet-Visible (UV-Vis) spectroscopy and photoluminescence (PL) analysis were applied to study the GQDs characteristic. Scanning electron microscopy illustrated the...

Absolute measurement of the ultrafast nonlinear electronic and rovibrational response in H2 and D2

The high-field nonlinear polarizability of diatomic molecules is a topic of practical and fundamental importance. From optical frequency conversion [1,2] to simulations and experiments in high-intensity propagation [3–9], understanding the atomic and molecular behavior under high laser fields is crucial for applications. Unlike in monatomic gases, the nonlinear molecular response cannot be char...

Self-stabilization of third-harmonic pulse during two-color filamentation in gases

Self-stabilization of the laser pulse parameters is demonstrated during the two-color filamentation of ultrashort and intense laser pulses in gases. Experimental data and results of numerical simulations show, in good qualitative agreement, that the root-mean-square values of the intensity fluctuations decrease below the initial value for the near-infrared pump pulse and the perturbative limit ...

Simulations of femtosecond atmospheric filaments enhanced by dual pulse molecular alignment

A laser pulse propagating through the atmosphere self-focuses due to the nonlinear index of refraction modifications from the instantaneous electronic and delayed rotational responses of the air molecules. If the pulse power is sufficient, the focused pulse intensity can surpass the ionization threshold, resulting in a plasma filament. The balance between defocusing due to plasma refraction and...
